|Dr. Mark Paxton was raised in Bellevue, Washington and received his undergraduate degree from Washington State University in 1976. Dr. Paxton received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 1980 from the University of Washington and then completed a one-year, hospital-based, general practice residency at the University of Washington Hospitals in Seattle, Washington. Following his residency, he practiced general dentistry with the United States Air Force, and was stationed in Washington, D.C. and Wiesbaden, Germany.
In 1989, Dr. Paxton began a four-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Travis Air Force Base in Northern California. His training provided extensive experience in orthognathic reconstructive and facial aesthetic surgery. Dr. Paxton is a board certified surgeon and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and is also board certified with the American Board of Dental Anesthesiology.
Clinical Research and Experience
Due to his interest in educational training and clinical research, Dr. Paxton was asked to remain on the teaching staff at Travis Air Force Base Medical Center following the completion of his residency. Through his efforts as Research Director, clinical research projects on temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery, maxillofacial reconstruction, rigid fixation and stability following orthognathic surgery, bone grafting and healing, and many pharmacology studies have been completed.
In 1995, Dr. Paxton and his family relocated to Spokane, Washington and opened Spokane Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Shortly thereafter, the practice became an accredited ambulatory surgery center by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care, Inc (AAAHC), the first of its kind in the Pacific Northwest and Inland Empire. In July of 2000, Dr. Paxton opened a satellite office located on the South Hill of Spokane and opened a third satellite office in Post Falls, Idaho in 2007.
Accomplishments and Affiliations
Dr. Paxton’s professional accomplishments also include an appointment by Governor Gary Locke to serve a three-year term as a member of the Washington State Dental Quality Assurance Commission. From 2006 to 2007, Dr. Paxton was nominated as the Citizen of the Year by the Washington State Dental Association. Dr. Paxton has also served on the Executive Council for the Spokane District Dental Society, and was also appointed President of the Washington State Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons Society for 2001. Dr. Paxton is a current member of the Spokane District Dental Society Foundation, Sacred Heart Medical Center Pediatric Hospital Foundation, and is a Trustee for the Washington State University (WSU) Foundation. In the Community
Dr. Paxton’s interest in the care of patients with craniofacial deformities has also enabled him to serve as a volunteer for the non-profit organization, Hearts in Motion. Over the past 30 years, Dr. Paxton and staff have traveled on missions to Central and South America. During these surgical missions, Dr. Paxton has provided care to many children and adults with cleft lip and palate and other craniofacial deformities.
Outside the Office
Dr. Paxton is married to Dr. Diane Paxton, an orthodontist in the Spokane Valley. The Paxton’s have two children: Christopher, who pilots C-130 aircraft for the USAF, and Lindsey, who currently attends Gonzaga Law School. The Paxton family enjoys snow skiing, hiking, mountain climbing, biking and sailing adventures, as well as spending time with family and friends.
|Dr. Freuen was born in 1981 and raised in Spokane Washington. He then ventured from Spokane to attend Creighton University in Omaha Nebraska where he would meet his wife Amy. He graduated from Creighton University School of Dentistry in 2007, moved to New York, then graduated from Stony Brook Medical School in 2010. In 2011 he completed his general surgery internship at Stony Brook Medical Center. Dr. Freuen completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency from Long Island Jewish Medical Center in 2013 and became certified as a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2015.
Dr. Nicholas Freuen and his wife Amy now find themselves in Spokane where they hope to take advantage of all the blessings the Great Pacific Northwest has to offer. They enjoy all outdoor activities and look forward to being active members within the community.
|I was born in Okinawa, Japan at a US armed forces hospital. My father was career military and we settled in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I attended the University of Denver graduating in 1983 with a degree in Chemistry. As for dental school, I graduated from the University of Colorado in 1987. My OMFS residency was at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland AFB, Texas from 1992–1998 graduating from the University of Texas Health Science Center Medical School in 1996.
I moved to Spokane in May of 2000. I have a wife, Jeanette, of 32 years along with 2 boys: Eric, age 27 and Sean, age 23. I enjoy bicycling, golf, boating and skiing.
|Dr. Anthony Weber graduated from Washington State University with Bachelor of Science degrees in both neuroscience and zoology in 2007/2008. He then graduated at the top of his class from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry, Magma Cum Laude with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2013. Dr. Weber completed rotations in surgical anesthesia and received extensive training in oral surgery, endodontics and prosthodontics. He is certified in Intravenous Sedation, Pediatric Oral Moderate Sedation, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. He also completed a two year advanced surgical and restorative implant training program at USC.
Dr. Weber received senior awards in anesthesiology and endodontics. He is a member of the Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Dental Association, the Washington State Dental Association, and the Spokane District Dental Society. Durning dental school, Dr. Weber enjoyed doing community service, providing free dental care to hundreds of children and adults in the Los Angeles area, while also traveling throughout central America and Africa on numerous dental mission trips. He is married to Dr. Lori Weber, who is also a general dentist in the Spokane area.

My husband and I live north of Spokane and enjoy camping, taking our Jeep on adventures, hunting and fishing. We have two grown children that we are very proud of and they love the outdoors as well.
